After launching an online shop during lockdown 1.0, Umbrella Project, the team behind one of the best pubs in town, The Sun Tavern, and cocktail bar Discount Suit Company, has taken it IRL and opened a bricks-and-mortar bottle shop in Shoreditch. Umbrella Workshops is stocked with low intervention & natty wines, small producer spirits, Irish whiskey, poitin (they boast the largest selection of poitin in the UK), their own ciders and ginger beers, and their classic bottled cocktails including Umbrella Margarita, East London Negroni and Irish Old Fashioned.
The shop is also home to a 12-seater bar giving you a space to try before you buy and also functioning as an incubator and cocktail development centre for Umbrella Project, so they can whip up some new bevvies to be bottled and to hit the menus at The Sun Tavern and Discount Suit Company. East London peeps, you’ll have no excuses for an empty drinks cabinet once this place is open.
