We’ve already got a dairy-free cheese shop and now Sainsbury’s is jumping on the vegan trend opening a “meat-free butchers”. Billed as a completely vegan butchers the stunt coincides with World Meat Free Week this June. The pop-up “butchers” will look the part, sausages in hanging in the window and all, but everything inside from the bangers to the mince to the ribz will be entirely plant-based.
You’ll be able to sample some of the supermarket’s meat-free range for free as well as pick up some boneless bites, which will be weighed and wrapped the traditional way, for a bargain price. And if you need some tips on vegan cooking, the in-store butcher will be on hand with recipe advice.
