THE UK’S FIRST LGBTQ+ RETIREMENT COMMUNITY IS OPENING IN LONDON

After getting the green light from the Mayor of London in the form of a £5.7 million loan from the Community Housing Fund, a retirement complex for LGTBQ+ people is opening at Bankhouse in Vauxhall later this year. Run by Tonic Housing, the development will consist of 19 homes, a restaurant, and a floating garden, and the space will also offer a range of activities and events run in collaboration with other LGBTQ+ organisations.

The aim of the project is to give LGTBQ+ people a space that affirms their identities rather than just being LGBTQ+ friendly, making it the first of its kind in the UK.

Opens 2021
