THE TIDE LINEAR PARK TO OPEN

“London’s answer to the High Line” – we’ve heard that tagline thrown around every time a new park is planned but this one might actually match up to what they’ve got over in NYC. The Tide is a new linear park on Greenwich Peninsula; it’s a stretch (which’ll eventually be connected to a 5km loop) that features 9m-high elevated walkways, timber-decked bridges, and ‘stepping stones’ all lined with native trees and wildflowers. The route will also be home to public artworks – there’s already an Anthony Gormley piece in situ with Damien Hirst sculpture coming.

The Tide can be used a running route, a way to walk around and along the riverfront or just as a place to enjoy being outside, and it sounds like it’s only gonna get better as more sections are completed.

Opens July 2019
