London already has a restaurant where you eat in the dark and now the same team is opening a restaurant where you eat in silence. At The Taste of Silence in Clerkenwell you’re encouraged to order using British Sign Language – don’t worry, helpful instructions are provided – with the idea being that you end up learning something whilst you eat. And no you don’t actually have to sit in silence the entire time.
The menu is a mix of Asian and European inspired dishes, including the likes of tempura cauliflower & aubergine and cornfed chicken with mushroom forestière & roast potatoes, but this place is all about the experience so get working on your non-verbal communication.
