THE STARMAN ISN’T WAITING IN THE SKY, HE’S LANDED ON HEDDON STREET

50 years since David Bowie shot the Ziggy Stardust album cover on Heddon Street, the Starman has returned, just a few doors down this time, in the shape of new bar The Starman. Run by the Barworks crew (who are also behind Mare Street Market in Hackney and Gas Station in King’s Cross), The Starman may have a Bowie connection in teams of name and location (they’ve even recreated the K.West sign featured on the cover in the basement) but it’s not a celebration of the icon’s golden years, so if you’re expecting a load of Ziggy Stardust themed items, you’re in the wrong place.

Instead you can find a bar stocked with beers from the likes of Camden Town Brewery and Stone & Wood, wines and cocktails, and dishes like Jersey rock oysters, vegan ‘nduja bruschetta with charred spring onions, beef & bone marrow pie with mash & seasonal greens, fish & chips with mushy peas, caramel custard tart with chocolate sorbet, and roasts on Sundays. There’s even a terrace for al fresco action in the heart of Mayfair too.
