As a special International Women’s Day edition of their event series, The Standard is teaming up with the East London Strippers Collective for a life drawing class – referencing the rich history of artists musing upon nude models to create works of art. First, ELSC will lead a Standard Talks session in The Library Lounge, speaking about their work in challenging the stigma around sex work, standing up to exploitation, promoting and supporting self-organisation among strippers and fighting for improved safety in the wider sex industry. Then, in Double Standard, the life drawing class featuring members of the collective will kick off, expect high-octane pole tricks, striptease, floor-work, freestyle, and some surprise audience participation.
