If you’re going to be social anywhere this Christmas, this place was named after the concept. For those of you who aren’t familiar with The Social on Little Portland street, it’s the best place to go if you want the easy going atmosphere of a gig venue but don’t fancy bringing a multipack of toilet seat covers in your bag.
It’s also now given us an excuse to give up on the notion of Christmas shopping on Oxford street early with the return of The Social’s Christmas market! The doors will be open between 12pm and 5.30pm, entry is free and fear not ye Christmas market pessimists, this won’t be a bunch of expensive twigs wrapped in fairy ligthts…stalls will be filled with amazing books, maps, badges, records, limited edition screen prints, tshirts, fine wine and lots of other Christmas gifts.
The Basement will see talks, workshop and (of course) drinking hosted by Caught By The River, The Idler, Faber Social and Folklore Tapes. We even hear there’ll be a bird drawing workshop, which is cool because you’ll have to make your own Christmas cards after spending all your money on the ridiculous amount of #swag.
