the scotch egg challenge 2019
The Scotch Egg Challenge is back for 2019 and we are very egg-cited indeed. The Canonbury pub is once again playing host to the event with Joe Warwick compering for the night and Simon Rimmer leading the judging panel.
It’s another stacked line-up meaning this year’s challenge promises to be another cracking event (sorry). Check out just some of the names participating:
- Meedu Saad, Smoking Goat (Winner, 2018)
- Luke Frankie, The Drapers Arms
- Robin Gill, The Dairy
- Calum Franklin, Holborn Dining Room
- Chris King, The Wigmore
- Henry Harris, The Hero of Maida
- Tomos Parry, Brat
- Dan Smith, Fordwich Arms
- James Ramsden, Pidgin
- Aurelien Durand, The Coach
- Andy Waugh, Mac & Wild
- Ian Howard, Roast
- Richard Falk, Lino
The event is free to attend, but a limited number of VIP tickets are available for the seated judging area which include a free drink and guaranteed sampling of a selection of the competing eggs.
All income from the sale of these tickets is being donated to hospitality employment charity Only A Pavement Away. Tickets are £15 each and can be bought online here.
