THE RIVER CAFE OPENS SYLVIA’S

The River Cafe is an absolute institution – it’s one of the best Italian restaurants in the city and one of the most expensive – and now after thirty plus years in the game, the restaurant has decided to expand. Named after co-founder Ruth Rogers’ mother, Sylvia’s has opened just next door taking over the former meeting rooms of her husband Richard’s architectural practice.

Open only for dinner, with a pianist performing, Sylvia’s serves a set menu that’s heavy on the veg (making it significantly cheaper than the main restaurant), with pastas, risottos, soups, winter vegetable main courses like baked ricotta, roasted trevise and artichokes alla romana, and River Cafe desserts.
