the poppies are back | weeping window

Remember the epic poppy installation ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’ at the Tower of London back in 2014? Well it’s coming back to London this autumn to coincide with the centenary of the end of WW1. Many of the 888,246 were auctioned off to raise money for military charities but the remainder were turned into two smaller installations, ‘Wave’ and ‘Weeping Window’, which travelled the country. And now ‘Weeping Window’, where the poppies fall down from a window and spread out, will be installed at the Imperial War Museum in what is set to be another beautiful and moving exhibit. Definitely one not to miss, especially if you didn’t catch the original the first time around.
