Staycations are very much still on the agenda for this summer and if you fancy taking a little break out west, there’s a brand new boutique guesthouse opening in Notting Hill this June. The Lost Poet, opening in a townhouse on Portobello Road, is the first hospitality project from local property design firm Cubic Studios and will feature four individually designed guest rooms.
Each room has its own colour palette and design elements – muted earthy tones and lots of natural light in the ‘yellow’ room, windows with traditional wooden shutters overlooking Portobello Road in the ‘green room’, soft rouges and playful wallpaper in the ‘pink’ room, and a stand-alone tub and south facing terrace in the top-floor ‘blue’ room – plus antique pieces of furniture including items sourced from local Portobello dealers. The bathrooms all feature marble floors, Samuel Heath brassware, and House of Hakcney and Maison C wallpaper. If a particular colour room takes your fancy, they can be booked on an individual basis or you can splash out and hire the whole house for yourself.
