THE LORD NAPIER REOPENS IN HACKNEY WICK

There’s been so much redevelopment in Hackney Wick over the past few years and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down as now the Lord Napier, aka the graffiti building, has reopened its doors 26 years after the last proper pint was poured there. The newly named Lord Napier and Star, is now part of the Electric Star Pubs group, joining the likes of the Star of Bethnal Green and the Star by Hackney Downs.

Outside, the venue boasts an 80 seater roof terrace, whilst inside the bar is stocked with local craft beers, rotating cask ales, classic cocktails and an extensive wine list. When it comes to food, the kitchen is headed up by KraPow, meaning you can chow down on Northern Thai grub like Thai burgers with fish sauce relish and gai yang chilli & lemongrass chicken with nam jim jaew dipping sauce. And if you fancy getting groovy on the dancefloor, there’s everything from old school pub discos to sets from A Guy Called Gerald and Theo Kotis, plus a closing time of 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
