The London Independent Film Festival is back for its 20th year this April, with a huge programme of industry events and indie film screenings. As ever, they’ll be setting up inside Genesis Cinema for 10 days, platforming first and second-time filmmakers with limited budgets. This year will see more feature films than ever screened at the festival, with eight on the line-up. Must-sees include Alex Lewis: Mountain, a documentary that follows quadruple amputee Alex Lewis as he sets out to climb Ethiopia’s highest mountain, and Love Without Walls, a fiction about a couple who lose everything but are sustained through their good humour and positivity. Each screening will be followed by a Q&A with the directors and there’ll be a number of events centred around supporting emerging filmmakers – from pitching masterclasses to story surgeries.
