THE LIGHT BAR IS RE-OPENING IN SHOREDITCH

After closing in 2014 to make way for a new tower block, The Light Bar housed inside the old Victorian Electric Light Generating Station on Shoreditch High Street, is being reborn after the building was saved from redevelopment.

Coming back as The Light Bar – hey if it ain’t broke and all that – the three-floor venue is now a modern British bar and restaurant serving strong cocktails, low intervention wine and seasonal produce from local suppliers (including from their own allotment). That means dishes like grilled English peas with pumpkin seed romesco, Hereford beef buns, sourdough flatbreads with frigatelli peppers & sprouting broccoli, Devon crab pasta with chilli brown crab butter; and grilled chicken with roast chicken curry sauce.

The Light is opening its outdoor terrace first in April, with the Engine Hall and Copper Bar opening for indoor dining in May, and the Loft following in June.

Opens Mon 12th April 2021
233 Shoreditch High Street, London E1 6PJ
