The Libertines Are Playing a Huge London Show Next Summer

The band will be hitting the stage in Gunnersbury Park

Gunnersbury Park has become one of the hotspots for live music in the capital – in 2024 it hosted shows from the likes of Peggy Gou, KoRn and PJ Harvey and next summer’s programme is filling up nicely too, with Khruangbin already announced and now The Libertines following suit.

It’s been a decade since Pete Doherty, Carl Barât, John Hassall and Gary Powell officially reformed (the band split in 2004 before reuniting to play festival shows in 2010, with a new recording contract being signed in 2014). In that time, they’ve had two hit albums, Anthems for Doomed Youth and All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade, which went to number one back in April of this year.

For their massive homecoming show in the summer, the four-piece will be joined by Supergrass, Soft Play, Hak Baker, Lambrini Girls and Real Farmer. Speaking about the gig, the band say, “The old white mansion in Gunnersbury Park is in one of our favourite films, The Lavender Hill Mob, so we thought we’d bring the Eastern Esplanade mob and some spiky guitars to that Arcadian glade in West London for a good ol’ homecoming knees up. Look forward to seeing you there, along with our friends Supergrass, Soft Play, Hak Baker, Lambrini Girls and Real Farmer. Love Peter, Carl, Gary and John X”

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Fri 8th November and they’re sure to fly out, so make sure you snap yours up.
