THE LEVAN TEAM IS OPENING A PARISIAN-INSPIRED WINE BAR NEXT DOOR

Bar Levan is taking over the old Larry’s space

We were sad to see Larry’s shut up shop in Peckham but the Levan team, who owns both sites, isn’t letting it lie empty for long. Mark Gurney and Matt Bushnell (who are now operating as a duo after parting ways with their other business partner Nicholas Balfe), are flipping it into Bar Levan, a Parisian-inspired wine bar that will serve European natural wines, aperitifs, mezcal and bar snacks.

At Levan, the wine list will have the same ethos as Larry’s but with a more playful selection, meaning lots of organic and biodynamic bottles alongside older vintages and one-offs served by the glass. You’ll be able to buy bottles to take home but with the likes of rillettes, charcuterie, cheese, mussels on crisps and croque monsieurs on the snack menu, plus guest chef takeovers on the cards, you’ll defo want to drink in.

You can also expect a killer vinyl soundtrack to be coming from the vintage sound system and even a few Strictly Bangers takeovers, throwing it back to the music and wine nights that began at the much-missed Salon in Brixton.

Opens Thurs 23rd November 2023
Unit 5, 12-16 Blenheim Grove, Peckham SE15 4QL
