Kentucky Derby has a reputation for being the most exciting two minutes in sport. We can’t confirm or deny but frankly it doesn’t matter because The Whip are putting on a party to celebrate and once you see the menu, you won’t be looking at the horses anyway.

On May 2nd and 3rd, the Mayfair venue will be screening races live, offering prizes on sweepstakes and serving up some down right delicious southern food. Oyster Po’Boy sandwiches and Shrimp & Grits will provide the perfect accompaniant to your derby watching, with banana bourbon pudding for dessert.

And since no sport watching is complete without a drink in hand, The Whip have a menu of juleps for your enjoyment. The Frankfort Julep is our pick- it’s got Buffalo Trace, Old Times Jam, mint, ginger and peach bitters and is half price if you come and whisper the name to them over the weekend. Now that’s southern hospitality!
