the jellied eel to go perm in walthamstow

After popping up for the last couple of seasons, The Jellied Eel is launching a permanent residency on Friday and Saturday nights at the Grade-II listed L Maze pie and mash shop in Walthamstow. E17 locals Paul Jellis and Charlie Westover will be joined by Elena Smileva (formerly of The Lacy Nook in Stokey) meaning as well as the gourmet croquetas, The Jellied Eel will serve up a small plates menu featuring the likes of merguez sausages with hot pepper sauce, roasted mushrooms with garlic butter and oregano pesto, and fried squid with green aioli.

There’ll be seasonal cocktails like rhubarb negronis, blood orange margs and chilli pisco sours to go with the food, with the shop doing its regular pie and mash business in between.
