THE ITALIAN GREYHOUND TO OPEN IN MARYLEBONE

The team behind Italian spot Bernardi’s (brothers Marcello and Gabriel Bernardi and Barry Hirst) are relaunching the Marylebone restaurant as The Italian Greyhound this June. This new iteration of their restaurant is inspired by neighbourhood bacaros, so it’ll be as much a place to drop in for a drink and some small plates as it will be for long lunches and dinners. The interiors have been redesigned and there’s now a large bar area to accommodate those casual drinkers, alongside a dining room and wraparound terrace.

Head Chef Yohei Furuhashi (ex-River Cafe, Dinings SW3 and Petersham Nurseries) is in charge of the new food menu, which includes dishes like Sicilian chickpea fritters with sage; Cornish crab with potato & celery hearts; Wye Valley asparagus, stracciatella & speck pizza; pappardelle with slow-cooked pork ragu; and John Dory with spinach, broad beans & bottarga. Drinks-wise, there’ll be Italian and British beers, a European wine list, and some interesting sounding cocktails – scamorza bourbon washed Old Fashioned we’re looking at you.

Opens Tues 8th June 2021
