THE HOUSE OF SUNTORY IS CELEBRATING ITS 100TH ANNIVERSARY WITH COCKTAILS AT 100 OF THE BEST BARS IN THE COUNTRY

For its centenary year, The House of Suntory is partnering with 100 of the UK’s most prestigious bars to create 100 anniversary-inspired cocktails

100 is a very big anniversary so it’s only fitting that Japanese spirits brand The House of Suntory is celebrating the occasion in a very big way. From now until the end of the year, 100 of the best bars in the UK, including The American Bar at Gleneagles, Calcot Manor Hotel and Seed Library in Shoreditch, are serving cocktails made using products from across the House of Suntory portfolio, including whiskies, Roku gin and Haku vodka, for the perfect anniversary toast.

The House of Suntory is particularly known for its whiskies – the house’s founder Shinjiro Torii built Japan’s first malt whisky distillery in Yamazaki and has pioneered craftsmanship in the country ever since. The special centenary serves will feature Toki and Hibiki whiskies as well as two limited edition whiskies, Yamazaki 18 Year Old Mizunara and Hakushu 18 Year Old Peated Malt, released specially for the anniversary.

Some of the special anniversary cocktails available in London include:

  • Khumba, Haku Club and Harmonised Mithuna at Farzi Cafe
  • Sakura & Coconut Highball and Watermelon & Elderflower Cordial at Dinings SW3
  • Zen Yuzushu, Cherry Blossom Twilight, Toki-o Sunset and Sesame Sakura, all made with Toki whisky, at Callooh Callay
  • The Awakening, made with Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve Single Malt Whisky, at The Malt Lounge at The Prince Akatoki

The anniversary celebrations were launched in style back in June with a Suntory Anniversary Tribute from Academy-Award-winning director Sofia Coppola, featuring Keanu Reeves, that captures the meaning of ‘Suntory Time’ and the legacy the brand has been building over the last century. With special anniversary serves on offer until the end of year, there’s ample opportunity to enjoy your own Suntory Time and raise a glass to the next hundred years.
