It’s opening opposite the original Wolseley restaurant
The Wolseley Hospitality Group is launching a new Colbert Collection, named after its Chelsea restaurant Colbert, and the first new opening under that brand will be The WestDill Mayfair. The Colbert Collection is being described as hotels and resorts that “effortlessly integrate the local community and social spaces to connect guests with the people around them and inspire them to write their unique travel story together” and “where every guest is united by an independent spirit and a love of adventure”.
The WestDill Mayfair will be taking over a Grade-II listed building designed by Sir William Curtis Green that was formerly a NatWest bank, opposite the original Wolseley restaurant on Piccadilly.
There’ll be 50 bedrooms and suites inside, alongside a restaurant and bar – we don’t have any details on the food and drink offering but we’d expect it to be different from The Wolseley (given its proximity) and maybe similar to Colbert (given the collection name). And as the property is taking over an old bank, we’re keen to see what they end up using the vault for as well. Watch this space for more…
