The Maybourne Hotel Group is adding a fourth property to its London portfolio, the first new one in the capital in 50 years
With Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley (plus The Maybourne Beverly Hills and The Maybourne Riviera) in its collection, the Maybourne Hotel Group certainly knows what’s what when it comes to high-end hotels, and it’s bringing us even more this year with the opening of The Emory in Knightsbridge. Designed by architects Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour, with interiors (a different aesthetic on each floor) from the likes of Alexandra Champalimaud, André Fu, Pierre-Yves Rochon, Rémi Tessier and Patricia Urquiola, The Emory is going to showcase the best in contemporary luxury.
There’ll be 60 suites – no bog-standard bedrooms here – and a Rigby & Rigby-designed penthouse set over nine floors inside the hotel, plus a rooftop offering 360-degree views of London that’s only accessible to guests; a four-floor underground wellness space with a 22-metre pool; and chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s ABC concept of fresh, local and conscious cuisine, which is highly acclaimed over in NYC). We’ve got a bit of a wait until we see it but The Emory is sure to be one of the biggest openings of the year.
