The Group Behind Claridge’s and The Connaught Is Opening a New London Hotel

And internationally acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten will be heading up the in-house restaurant

With Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley (plus The Maybourne Beverly Hills and The Maybourne Riviera) in its collection, the Maybourne Hotel Group certainly knows what’s what when it comes to high-end hotels, and it’s bringing us even more this year with the opening of The Emory in Knightsbridge. Designed by architects Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour, with interiors (a different aesthetic on each floor) from the likes of Alexandra Champalimaud, André Fu, Pierre-Yves Rochon, Rémi Tessier and Patricia Urquiola, The Emory is going to showcase the best in contemporary luxury.

There’ll be 60 suites – no bog-standard bedrooms here – and a Rigby & Rigby-designed penthouse set over nine floors inside the hotel, plus a rooftop offering 360-degree views of London that’s only accessible to guests and a four-floor underground wellness space with a 22-metre pool.

The Emory will be launching in April alongside its in-house restaurant, abc kitchens, led by French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten who also runs abc kitchen, abcV and abc cocina in New York. The menu here will showcase fresh, local and conscious cuisine, with several of the NYC signatures making the trip across the pond. These include the Crab Toast with green chilli, dill and lemon aioli; Crispy Fish Tacos served with aioli and cabbage-apple slaw; and Char-Grilled Beef Tenderloin served with chimichurri and lime.

Opens Thurs 4th April 2024
