THE GREAT STREET FEAST IS BACK FOR 2023

Freedom from Torture’s annual charity event is back this June with a star-studded lineup

This summer, Freedom from Torture is marking Refugee Week with The Great Street Feast, an evening of delicious food, fine wines and live entertainment. The event takes place every year to raise funds for FFT’s vital work in healing and protecting people who’ve survived torture.

On 22nd June, some of London’s leading chefs will be working with refugees to serve up an exceptional menu at BAFTA in St James’s. Chefs on the lineup include Paul Merrett (of Jolly Fine Pub Group), Anton Manganaro (BAFTA Head Chef), Chaya Maya (of Ottolenghi), Philip Juma (of JUMA Kitchen), Cesar Garcia (of Iberica) and Cynthia Shanmugalingam (of Rambutan). Yogi, chef de partie at the Park Plaza Hotel and a refugee who received therapy from FFT, will also be in the kitchen, cooking food from his homeland.

As well as dinner, there’ll be live entertainment and celebrity talks featuring Joanna Lumley, broadcaster and patron John McCarthy and comedian and author Alexei Sayle. Plus, there’ll be a silent auction where bidders can get their hands on prizes such as a private Zoom call with Michael Palin, exclusive tickets to the recording of QI (including a drink with Sandi Toksvig and the guests in the green room), and private dinner parties catered by top chefs.

Thurs 22nd June 2023, 7.30 – 10.30pm
