THE GREAT KITCHEN CLEAR-OUT

has one of those cupboards in their kitchen which is full of things they never use. A sandwich toaster bought with the best of intentions. A soda stream left over from a retro house party. An ice cream maker from…… who knows. The point is that these things are cluttering our kitchens when they could be put to a very good cause.

The Great Kitchen Clear Out is a jumble sale for your pots and pans and all proceeds are going to charity, so bring down that old bakeware, the unopened cookbooks and that utensil that someone gave you for Christmas that you still haven’t worked out what it is because someone else might find a use for it.

Entry is only £1 and that, along with the profits from the day will go to Action Against hunger and the Kate Ray Memorial Bursary fund. This project was the inspired idea of Les Dames D’Escoffier, a group of women who work in the food industry and they have already received donations from Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Michel Roux (snr and jnr!), Theo Randall, Anjum Anand and Anton Edelman.

Not only will you make space in your kitchen by getting rid of your old items but you might find something you never knew you needed there, and helping out some very worthy charities in the process.
