Mandy Lieu, a successful model and actress in Asia, has had something of a career change – after buying Hampshire estate Ewhurst Park, which she plans to turn into an organic farm, she’s also opened deli, cafe and restaurant The Good Plot in Westbourne Grove. The Good Plot sources seasonal and ethical produce from predominantly British farmers and it’s also big on sustainability, striving for zero-waste and using plastic-free packaging.
During the day The Good Plot serves up hot drinks; brekkies like acai bowls, turmeric porridge, and granola pots; and baked goods. Come evening (Thurs-Sun), chef Katie Allan (ex-Theo Randall and Bocca di Lupo) cooks dishes like pumpkin soup with crispy sage pumpkin seeds, grilled octopus with white bean veloute & chorizo salsa, and herb-crusted lamb rump with wild mushrooms & salsa verde.
Although dine-in service is off the cards for the moment, you can get takeaway hot drinks and pastries, and if you live in Notting Hill you can sign up for their organic milk delivery service.
