We can all relate to experiencing terrible service in restaurants; careless service with errors and mistakes, staff so rude that are seemingly doing all they can to avoid receiving a tip. Imagine going somewhere specifically to experience this and then imagine loving it so much you’d happily pay again the next night to do it all again. That, in a nutshell, is the Faulty Towers Dining Experience.
Having started life in Australia, been touring since 2008, and now back after the pandemic, the cast of three, playing the familiar characters of Basil, Sybil and hapless Spanish waiter Manuel, have perfected their impressions. Not only do they perform in character for a full two hours, but they also serve the three-course menu themselves. With only around 30% of the dialogue scripted, it gives the actors free reign to ad lib and directly engage with guests on a specific evening.
