The Fallow Team Is Opening Roe in Canary Wharf

Chefs Will Murray and Jack Croft and Chairman James Robson are heading east for their third London restaurant

The doors to FOWL, their high-end take on a chicken shop, have only been open a matter of months but that’s not stopping the Fallow team from ploughing ahead with another brand new restaurant. This time they’re heading out of the St James’s neighbourhood and eastwards to Canary Wharf to open the 350-cover Roe, which, as well as being named after deer, will follow the same nose-to-tail and root-to-stem ethos as Fallow.

British ingredients, including rare breed meat, carefully sourced fish and produce made from Wildfarmed grain, will be central to the Roe menu, which will include dishes like:

  • maitake Cornish pasty with shiitake mushrooms and in-house-grown thyme
  • baked potato cooked in kombu stock with walnut & truffle ketchup and crispy seaweed
  • black pudding and pork belly skewers with fermented plum sauce
  • Roe mixed grill with grilled marinated haunch of venison, confit venison shoulder and venison skewer

Sustainability will also be at the forefront of the restaurant; the three-floor space, which includes a chef’s table, private dining room and a terrace overlooking South Dock, will feature plant-based and compostable 3D-printed interiors and an aeroponic green wall to grow herbs and vegetables.

Fish Game, Blacklock and Mallow were just some of the restaurants to open in Canary Wharf last year and if Roe is anything to go by, it seems that the neighbourhood is on track for another big year for food.
