the face | the archive

When it was launched by Nick Logan in 1980, The Face redefined what an independent magazine could be and it had a massive impact on style and pop culture. In 2015, Nick’s son Maxell Logan started The Archive, an Instagram campaign to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the mag’s launch, which brought archive images and stories to a new audience. Now The Archive has installed a 75m outdoor display of 250 The Face covers spanning 1980-2001 in Lewis Cubitt Square at one end of the recently opened Coal Drops Yard development in King’s Cross.

The display will be up until the end of January and The Archive will also be presenting an exhibition exploring how The Face changed youth culture around the world in 2019 too.

Once you’re done there, check out these other hot exhibitions.
