Not only is The Dusty Knuckle responsible for some of the best pastries and sarnies in London, the bakery also runs a training programme that helps young people from the youth justice system or are who in care and insecure accommodation get the skills they need to get into the workplace. Until now the scheme has been funded by the bakery’s trade but now the team want to improve the resources on offer and build out the prorgramme to include an onward employment network.
To help do that, The Dusty Knuckle is throwing a massive knees-up to fundraise, right next to the Dalston bakery at Dalston Roofpark. As well as a feast cooked by Troy Cundy (featuring plenty of bread, obvs), there’ll be an auction, a live panel event with some past and present trainees, and Ashley Walters, Jessie Ware and Suggs will be in the house too.
