Rasputins has swung open its doors on Mare Street
Dom’s Subs already has the sarnie game on lock and now there’s even more good stuff to go around as the team, quite under the radar, has opened new bar Rasputins in Hackney, on the spot where Deep Cuts used to be. As it’s only had one preview weekend (on 5th and 6th July), it’s currently running with a short menu – Five Points and Guinness on the beer front; five-olive martinis, negronis, Tommy’s margs, vermouth & tonic, Fernet & coke, Laphroaig & soda for mixed drinks; and £3 mystery shots for the brave, but we’re expecting more to be on offer once the bar is fully set up.
If the olives in the martinis aren’t enough of a snack, there are all-beef or veggie hot dogs (a natural progression from the sub sandwich) on offer right now, with the promise of chicken and aubergine parms on the horizon. With the likes of Freddles, Yuki Bar and Bambi in the area, London Fields isn’t short of places to grab a drink and a bite but Rasputins sounds like an excellent addition to the neighbourhood.
