THE DAISY GREEN COLLECTION TO OPEN A 10,000 SQFT RESTAURANT IN THE HEART OF THE CITY

They launched floating restaurant Peggy Jean in the summer, opened Ziggy Green at the site of the iconic Ziggy Stardust cover, and now the Daisy Green Collective are working on their most ambitious location to date. It’s been three years in the making, but Paradise Green has finally got an opening date – set to land in the Square Mile next week. The huge 10,000 sqft space promises to be design-led, even described as an art gallery-style restaurant, with the food and interiors inspired by Surfers Paradise on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

Paradise Green will be divided into two different areas for Aussie-inspired dining: a ‘sunrise’ and ‘sunset’ room. The sunrise room host the long, healthy brunches that the Daisy Green group has become known for in a bright and airy environment, complete with green juices and house coffee. In contrast, the sunset room will be a spot for dinner and drinks, lit by the 3D light bar. Highlights from the menu will include chicken parmigiana, Timmy’s cheeseburger, a flaming tomahawk and an Aussie BBQ meat board.

Upstairs, a very special installation will set the scene for the restaurant’s private dining room. An all-felt, hand-sewn and handmade piece by Lucy Sparrow, The Billion Dollar Robbery was on show at the Saatchi Gallery last year and is now taking centre stage on Paradise Green’s second floor. The scene shows a mid-progress heist with a getaway van filled with bank notes, luxury watches, lycra gold bars and famous paintings.

The new location is actually just around the corner from where the OG Daisy Green, an open-air coffee hut outside the Gherkin, started off 10 years ago – so the new opening marks a number of milestones for the collection. If you’re already a fan of what they’ve been up to for the past decade, you’ll definitely want to check this one out.
