If you’re out and about in the City across the 9th and 10th July, make sure to stop by the Culture Mile’s Midsummer Fayre. A modern twist on a traditional medieval fair, the event is a celebration of the Culture Mile’s history and the great open-air spaces of the neighbourhood.
Across lunchtime on 9th July, the St Alphage ruins at London Wall Place will play host to roaming town criers and archery sessions, while on the evening of 10th July at Postman’s Park, there’ll be Morris dancing, acoustic minstrels and roaming Shakespeare performances. You’ll also be able to get involved with falconry displays and flower crown making workshops. And as with any good fair, food will be a big focus, with the likes of strawberries & cream and paella amongst the refreshments. The Midsummer Fayre is completely free to attend and you can drop in as you please.
