THE BOULEVARD THEATRE OPENS IN SOHO

Theatre in London has never been in better shape and we don’t just mean in terms of shows that are currently playing, we mean in terms of the actual theatres. The Alexandra Palace Theatre opened its doors once again after being closed for 80 years, a massive new venue is came to White City in the summer and now Soho is getting in on the action with the Boulevard Theatre.

Back in the 70s and 80s there was a venue called the Boulevard on the same site, run by Paul Raymond, and now his granddaughter Fawn Jame has resurrected the space, turning it into a two-level, revolving, fully-adaptable 165-seater auditorium. Rachel Edwards, founder of Tooting Arts Club, is the Artistic Director and she’ll be overseeing the programme of main theatre shows plus comedy, spoken word, cabaret and music. You’ll also be able to pop in for a drink and a bite to eat at the all-day bar and restaurant, with dishes ranging froml smashed chilli avocado on sourdough, to sumac oregano chicken with burnt aubergine to roasted curried baby cauliflower with black dhal.
