Borough Market is celebrating 21 years since its reopening as a public market this November and it’s marking the occasion by opening The Borough Market Kitchen. The new communal dining area inside Jubilee Place will feature 25 traders, with a mix of old faves like Horn OK Please, La Tua Pasta and Rudie’s alongside newbies including Mimo Pintxos Bar and Mei Mei by Elizabeth Haigh.
There’ll be a big focus on sustainability too. Much of the produce for the dishes from the stalls sourced from the market, the kitchen itself will be made from recycled materials, and it’ll be single-use plastic free. With the likes of Market Halls, Arcade Food Theatre and the incoming Eataly, it’s clear that food halls are going through a boom right now. Considering this one’s inside London’s most famous market, it should have no problem pulling in the punters.
