THE BLACK SHEEP TO OPEN IN WIMBLEDON VILLAGE

The Gladwin Brothers (of The Shed, Rabbit, Nutbourne and Sussex fame) are about to launch their sixth restaurant, this time in the heart of Wimbledon Village. In keeping with the Gladwin theme, The Black Sheep will be bringing a slice of the countryside to London with dishes led by wild and locally sourced British produce, and interiors with a rural and rustic vibe.

On their spring menu, you can expect dishes like Wye Valley grilled asparagus with crispy duck egg; sweet cured confit hogget shoulder with foraged wild garlic, anchovies & white bean salsa; and English summer berry jelly with elderflower cream for dessert. During the week, a second ‘Plant Led Set Menu’ will be available where the dishes are not meat or fish-free, but where local fruits and vegetables play a starring role, such as grilled purple sprouting broccoli with goat’s curd, toasted sunflower seeds & honey dressing; and raw gooseberry salad with pulled London burrata & basil oil.

The wine list will feature a selection sourced from the Gladwin family’s vineyard in West Sussex, alongside hand-picked bottles from across the globe. Plus, they’ll be partnering with the Wimbledon Wine School to offer WSET courses and wine tastings, so you can brush up on your knowledge. They’ll be opening in May, just in time for the Championships, so you’ll have more than one reason to head over to Wimbledon.

Opens May 2022
67 High Street Wimbledon, London, SW19 5EE
