have to admit when we heard the Birdcage was closing down and getting a completely new look, we were a little bit upset. We’ve had many a Saturday night in that boozer watching old crooners belt out the latest hits whilst stage invading…Oh those were the days! But the boozer actually closed back in August and is set to reopen at the end of the month with The Draft House behind it.

The transformation will see posh pies and cocktails now served in the boozer – what will the locals say? And there’s also buskers night on a Saturday to replace the much-loved karaoke.
