TheBiker Project: Series 1 is a 50 piece exhibition currently showing at the All Saints Earlham Street store. All Saints’ Covent Garden base, the brands longest running retail space, has been transformed, completely gutted and stripped, leaving behind the bare structure of the store – a sort of creative disruption that the brand is keen to display.
The Earlham Street store is All Saints concept venture, a pop-up hub of creative experiments, which focus on the brands core values – Independent thinking and creative innovation. The Biker Project is an impressive installation of 50 jackets, showcasing the design, craftsmanship and DNA of the iconic leather piece. Everything from the classic biker (Which everyone should own!) to more contemporary avent-garde pieces.
A short film chronicling All Saints and its eye for quality and artistry streams alongside the exhibition. Creative Director Wil Beedle says, “The leather jacket has always epitomised freedom and rebellion through exquisite craftsmanship – all things that are key to the spirit of AllSaints. And when you consider the tribal nature of bikers, you’re dealing with a culture that by its very essence sets out to express disruption.”
The Biker Project is the first in a series of anticipated events from All Saints, it is also a preview to a huge global event which will take All Saints to a new creative level. There’s more to a leather jacket than you think. It becomes part of your life, a second skin that submerges you into diverse culture…But to sum up the biker jacket? Simply, it makes you look the dogs. Follow The Biker Project using #TheBikerProject on Twitter.
