THE BEST PUB QUIZZES IN LONDON

What’s the best pub quiz in London? We’ve rounded up some of the top-rated quizzes across town – at least one for every day of the week – so you can decide for yourself.

Monday

The Lexington, Angel – The pub quiz at The Lexington is a certified London favourite. It’s all about music, so if general knowledge isn’t really your thing, this one’s for you. Compete against fellow music-loving Londoners for the top prize (a £60 bar tab), but bear in mind, this quiz is super popular so make sure you book a table in advance.

£2 entry, starts at 8pm

Tuesday

The Three Compasses, Dalston – For £2 per teammate, you can join the pub quiz at The Three Compasses in Dalston. This quiz master’s shtick is heavy on the puns, but don’t worry, you don’t *have* to laugh. This is another popular one so book yourself a table in advance – but, if you miss out, they also have a bonus quiz on every third Sunday of the month.

£2 entry, starts at 8pm

Wednesday

The Honor Oak, Lewisham – If you’re a SE Londoner, you’re probably already familiar with The Honor Oak – it’s a well-loved local. And they’ve got a weekly pub quiz on Wednesdays that’s £2 each to enter and be in with a chance of winning a £50 bar tab.

£2 entry, starts at 7pm

Thursday

Royal Inn On The Park, Victoria Park – Not only an in-demand wedding party spot, Royal Inn On The Park’s got their own pub quiz and it’s got a major jackpot prize (it’s previously been as high as £500).

£2 entry, starts at 7.30pm

Friday

Southwark Brewing Co., Southwark – On the first Friday of each month, head to Southwark Brewing Co. for a general knowledge quiz that also includes an extra round with a big money prize (the largest jackpot sum was a huge £720). The pub bills this as the only pub quiz in London on a Friday and, as far as we can tell, they’re right.

£2 entry, starts at 7pm

Saturday

Sounds Familiar, various locations – Another music quiz, Sounds Familiar isn’t quite a pub quiz, but it’s close enough. The Sounds Familiar quiz masters travel all over the country, with several regular stints in London pubs, including The Old Queen’s Head in Islington and The Phoenix in Soho. In their own words, this is a “combination of your favourite playlist and the best party you’ve been to”.

From £15 entry, starts at 12pm and 6.30pm

Sunday

The Oliver Conquest, Aldgate – Get your team together, put two quid in each and battle it out for the top prize at The Oliver Conquest‘s pub quiz, your entire bar tab. That’s right, the whole thing. For free. Reckon they put it on a Sunday to stop winners from going overboard?

£2 entry, starts at 7.30pm
