THE BEST PALOMAS IN LONDON

Put down the Picantes and pick up the Palomas – yes there’s another tequila-based cocktail that’s taking over town and it’s perfect for the summer. A mix of tequila, grapefruit soda and lime, it’s super refreshing as well as being pleasingly pink. It’s so good that it’s actually Mexico’s national cocktail, so who are we to argue with that? Here are the places shaking up the best Palomas in London.

Maya at The Hoxton, Shoreditch

Maya, the restaurant on the roof at The Hoxton Shoreditch, serves up a menu of Mexican classics so of course they have a Paloma (made with Centenario Plata tequila) on the drinks list, and of course it’s excellent.

Los Mochis

Mexican-Japanese fusion joint Los Mochis is bringing the heat with its Pink Hot Chilli Paloma, made with reposado tequila, chilli tincture, pink grapefruit soda, salt and a Mexican-Japanese spice mix.

Santo Remedio

Santo Remedio do excellent margs – we particularly love the hibiscus one – so it should come as no surprise that they mix up a mean Paloma, made witl El Jimador tequila, too.

Seabird

A regular Paloma is a thing of beauty but when the temps really start to rise, you need something extra cool. Enter the Frozen Paloma at Seabird, served with a side of bangin’ views.

Soda and Friends

Highball bar Soda and Friends puts a luxe twist on the Paloma by adding rosé champange and strawberry into the mix with the grapefruit and tequila. Extra fancy and extra pink.

Arcade Food Hall

The JKS crew aren’t one to do things by halves so naturally the Paloma on offer at Arcade Food Hall has some extra oomph to it. The Piquillo Pepper Paloma (try saying that five times fast after sinking a few of these) is pimped with mezcal, charred pepper cordial, pink grapefruit sherbet, lime, pink salt and soda.

Laurel’s On The Roof

Shoreditch’s newest rooftop spot Laurel’s On The Roof (on top of the Mondrian) has arrived just in time for summer with the perfect summer cocktail list. Extra citrusy and exta boozy thanks to the additions of yuzu and Aperol, the Yuzu Paloma is defo one to sip on by the pool.

The Gunmakers

Palomas are so popular at The Gunmakers in Clerkenwell that they’ve named the palm tree in their garden after the cocktail, so you can sip on a Paloma (made with El Tequileno tequila, grapefruit soda, lime and hibiscus salt) next to a Paloma.
