THE BEST BRUNCH MEAL KITS
In normal times, scoffing on stacks of pancakes and smashed avo on toast (preferably with a side of free-flowing fizz) was the highlight of the week. You can’t do that with this lockdown malarky but you can now get the best of London’s brunches delivered straight to your door (and you can stay in your jammies whilst you eat). Kick your weekend off right by diving into one of these brunch boxes…
Where The Pancakes Are
The London Bridge restaurant has a new at-home Big Brunch box (£45 to feed six) containing organic buttermilk (or a vegan alternative) pancake flour mix, Canadian maple syrup, Swaledale smoked streaky bacon, blueberries, bananas, buttermilk, eggs and butter so you can flip out stacks and stacks of pancakes whenever you want.
Breakfast En Bread
The Barge House in Hackney is famous for its breakfasts inside sourdough loaves and you can get them at home thanks to the Breakfast En Bread delivery service. The loaves are stuffed with spinach, leeks, mushrooms, tomatoes and, depending on which variety you choose, cheese, bacon and sausage, and each one comes ready to go in the oven so all you have to do is add the egg yolk right at the end. It’s the most low-effort brunch you can get and you can even freeze the loaves if you want to save up them for a treat.
Whether you’re missing their famous baked eggs or their much-loved kimchi pancakes, Caravan are keeping all of your cravings satisfied with not one but two brunch options. Both kits come with their signature sourdough, a bottle of cold-pressed juice and, of course, their Special Bru coffee. These kits do require a bit of action in the kitchen but it’s worth the extra effort.
Le Swine is making sure your breakfasts are still on point in lockdown with their DIY bacon butty kit, containing middle bacon, bacon butter, milk & onion buns and homemade ketchup. Every kit also comes with a voucher for a free bacon butty to be redeemed whenever and wherever their sixties ambulance is trading again!
Dishoom’s bacon naan rolls are back on the menu! Their DIY kit features enough ingredients to make TWO epic Bacon Naan Rolls – that’s dough balls, smoked streaky bacon, tomato chilli jam, and cream cheese. You’ll also get tea and spices so that you can brew a batch of their Masala Chai.
Cook yourself a meat feast with this Breakfast Box from family-run butcher HG Walter. It includes country style sausages, smoked streaky bacon, black pudding, a box of free range eggs and a bottle of the red stuff. All you have to do is source the bread and beans yourself and you’re in for a winning weekend fry-up.

Stein’s At Home
Enjoy a proper Cornish brunch thanks to this Weekend Breakfast Box from Rick Stein. It features enough ingredients to rustle up two hearty breakfasts including St Ewe eggs, Coombeshead Farm sourdough and a whole range of meat from Tywardreath Butchers. There’s also a jar of preserves and a bag of Origin coffee plonked in there too.
Okay, we know this one’s not a kit as such but it is one of our all time favourite brunch foods. We’re talking about smoked fish. Specifically, Campbell & Co’s smoked salmon and trout. These guys cure their carefully sourced fish in a Scottish smokehouse giving it a mild and oaky flavour. Serve these silky slices on some sourdough toast with a squeeze of lemon for an easy but delish Sunday brunch.
