THE AQUA GROUP IS GOING ITALIAN WITH BAKERY, CAFE & PIZZERIA LUCI IN COVENT GARDEN

The new spot will be the group’s seventh operation in the capital, joining Aqua Nueva, Aqua Kyoto, Aqua Spirit, Hutong, Aqua Shard and Shiro

Luci, the new Italian bakery, cafe and pizzeria from the Aqua Group, is being billed as a more relaxed and casual venue compared to some of the other restaurants on its roster, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be an understated affair. The all-day space, led by Executive Chef Andrea Pesenti (ex-Princi), will be spread across two floors of a building on Long Acre in Covent Garden, with a ground-floor grab-and-go counter, a first-floor restaurant and room for 200 covers.

The bancone will be filled with Italian treats, including fresh pastries like cornetti and candied Amalfi lemon cannoli; sourdough loaves; topped focaccia slices; panino sandwiches filled with mortadella & provolone and roasted peppers & taleggio; salads; and homemade gelato, alongside barista coffee. If you’ve got more time to indulge, the restaurant will serve up seasonal handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas and regional classics like parmigiana di melanzane, chicken cacciatore, and lamb meatballs in San Marzano tomato sauce.

Wines will be available on both floors as will cocktails using famous Italian spirits, so whether you’re popping in for a quick lunch or settling in for dinner, you certainly won’t be going thirsty at Luci.
