Lauretta’s will be ready for diners this Friday
Another day, another pizzeria. We’ve already written about how hot London’s pizza scene is right now and it’s showing no signs of cooling. NY-style slice shop Paulie’s has just opened on Commercial Street, and now Lauretta’s is setting up shop on Columbia Road. The pizzeria is coming from the 75 Slices crew, who were in residence last year at the Three Colts pub in Bethnal Green (the pub has been something of a pizza proving ground having also hosted Dough Hands and now has Short Road in the kitchen).
As per Instagram, it looks the standalone pizzeria and the name change have been in the works for a while, and now there’s not too much longer to wait. Lauretta’s is taking bookings for two soft launch dinner sittings on the evening of 4th July, with walk-ins available all day on Saturday.
We haven’t seen a menu yet but we’d expect to see the same thin and crispy pizzas (like pepperoni, burrata & Calabrian chilli and vodka sauce & house pesto) that made the 75 Slices name coming out of the kitchen, so if you didn’t make it down to the residency, get this place on your list.
