THANKS FOR TRYING BY MAT KEMP

We all know that recycling is really important but what you may not realise is that putting things in the recycling bin that can’t actually be recycled makes the whole process very costly and very challenging, with contaminated recycling going to waste. The North London Waste Authority has teamed up with artist Mat Kemp to raise awareness of the issue with the free Thanks For Trying exhibition in Coal Drops Yard. Mat has used weird and wonderful items that have tried to be recycled by North Londoners recently, like an army helmet, fairy wings and reading glasses, to create the pieces on show, and to highlight how small changes to our recycling habits, like rinsing off food, not putting black bin bags in recycling, and putting anything you’re unsure of in the bin, can make a massive difference.
