weekend sees the return of the annual Thames Festival. The festival takes place on the 10th & 11th September, with activity running from 12 noon to 10pm each day.

It celebrates London and the iconic river at its heart – the Thames – by dancing in the streets, feasting on bridges, racing on the river and playing at the water’s edge.

Highlights include the firework finale on Sunday evening (so that’s where our taxes go!), the Vintage Mobile Cinema, two free screenings at the IMAX, the cycle-in cinema, the Barclaycard band stage and the food market containing some of the best street food trucks around. Expect to find Jamon Jamon, Buen Provecho, Big Apple Hot Dogs and Crêperie Nicholas amongst many more.

There will also be a special Pedal Power Punch Machine from Courvoisier underneath the Hungerford bridge with the area being transformed into a punch powered swing that will also provide a mixture of vintage music and punch.

Sounds good to us and best of all the whole festival is free!
