TASTER TO LAUNCH TAKE-OUT-THAI, STACKSANDO AND A BURGERS

Delivery-only concept Taster launched in London last year with three food brands (Out Fry, Mission Saigon and O Ke Kai) and now it’s adding three more to its roster, which will be available on Deliveroo this February. There’s Take-Out-Thai, from ex-Som Saa chef John Chantarasak, which draws inspo from street food across different regions of Thailand. His dishes include tam taeng kwa (cucumber salad with peanuts, tomatoes and green beans), laab woonsen isaan (glass noodle and chopped pork salad) and pad krapao (chilli and garlic beef, green bean and holy basil stir-fry with crispy egg and jasmine rice).

Tim Anderson of Nanban is behind one of the other brands, Stacksando, which is all about katsu sandos. He’s doing tonkatsu ones (crispy pork loin, tonkatsu sauce, mustard mayo and shredded cabbage on Japanese milk bread) and chicken katsu ones (panko fried chicken breast with curry mayo, pickled ginger and gem lettuce), as well as chicken katsu curry strips; fries with seaweed, garlic miso and spicy katsu curry salts; and yuzu-pickled veg.

The last one is the Asian-inspired, plant-based A Burgers. Their buns include a sriracha burger (Moving Mountains patty, sriracha mayo, lettuce and pickled cucumber) and a kimcheese burger (fried cheese & cauliflower patty, kimchi, white cabbage and pickled cucumber), with sweet potato waffle fries, cheesy bites and Korean BBQ sauce on the side.

Launches Thurs 6th February 2020
