Cribs, The Horrors and Twin Atlantic are playing exclusive sets in their hometowns for Jack Daniel’s. The bands are part of the JD Roots shows, which see’s them play small exclusive gigs in the places where they started.

The shows kick off in Glasgow on Thursday May 3 when Twin Atlantic will headline King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut. The Horrors follow a week later when they perform at Chinnerys in Southend, Essex, on May 9, close to where they held their early Junkclub nights.

The band’s Rhys Webb said: “We plotted our first band practice whilst sharing drinks in the window of Southend On Sea’s Royal Hotel, a grand old building and home to the infamous Junkclub. Now we return to Chinnerys, just a stone’s throw from that hallowed place; to get right back where we started and celebrate a fantastic few years of causing trouble.”

The Cribs will close the run of shows on May 16, performing ahead of the release of their fifth album, ‘In the Belly of the Brazen Bull’ in their hometown, Wakefield. Singer Ryan Jarman said: “We haven’t played in Wakefield since 2007 as all the venues seem to have disappeared. We last played at a place called Escobar. There were loads of kids who couldn’t get tickets for the show, so the streets were lined with people watching through the windows. It will be great to finally play here again after 5 years.”

All three bands will be supported by The Black Belles from Nashville, who are signed to Jack White’s Third Man Records. Jack Daniel’s ask that fans know when to unplug, and urge them to please drink responsibly.
