London has another new Japanese restaurant and this one’s called TAKA. Open in Mayfair, TAKA is all about high-end food, with tataki, tempura, sashimi, yakitori and robata dishes like miso marinated black cod served in a houba leaf and beef ribeye with lotus root chips and yakiniku sauce all on the menu. The place looks very swish too, with a built-in oak counter, large sharing tables, laser cut brass panels and mesh walls, and there’s also a downstairs bar that shakes up cocktails with sake, whiksey and shochu. Sounds like a great addition to the city’s Japanese food scene.
