Take Leluu Supper Club. For the last five years, Uyen Luu has been serving up some of London’s best Vietnamese dishes from her home in London Fields. Much like a dinner party in the tradition of a Vietnamese feast, the evening is an intimate gathering of no more than 25 people in her stunning, airy home – think white-washed walls, floor to ceiling book shelving, antique crockery, and a super friendly team that assist Uyen in ensuring the whole experience is seamless. The eight-course set menu is authentic, fresh and simply delicious. And you can expect mouth-watering dishes such as beef in aromatic betel leaves; Saigon fresh rolls with pork belly, prawns and mint; prawn lollies in sugar cane; and of course, pho. The suggested donation is £35 per person. And quite frankly, some of the best pho we have ever tasted.When not cooking up a storm, Uyen is also a cookbook author, as well as a food photographer and stylist. Plans are also afoot to extend the supper club to another venue in east/north London. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled. Our final words of wisdom? Arrive on an empty stomach.
